What is the one thing you fear most in life? This is the question we’re pondering on this November as we prepare to not only face, but overcome the things we are most afraid of.
Fear comes in all shapes and sizes and varies for each person. It may be something physical, like, a fear of flying or a fear of cockroaches; but it can also be abstract: fear of love, fear of failure, or maybe even fear of fear itself.
The uncertainty of not knowing what lies ahead is something many of us are uncomfortable with, which is why we tend to dodge our demons instead of facing them head on.
But not anymore. It’s time to be brave and take control.
This month, we’re inviting you to join us on our journey to self-discovery by doing one thing that scares you the most.
Watch us conquer our fear of heights as we try Flying Trapeze for the first time. We’re joining the #NoMakeup movement by going bare-faced and embracing the skin we’re in, blemishes and all. We’re speaking out and being real about our health conditions, like model Tricia Duncan who is sharing her story about her battle with lupus.
Fear is, after all, all in the mind.
Our November 2017 cover girl Julie Anne San Jose sets the stage for us as she opens up about how she conquered her fears despite the setbacks in her career.
The 23-year-old singer chose to pursue her passion for music while prioritizing (and finishing) her schooling—a feat so challenging for showbiz artists. “[My turning point was] when my dad told me na tama na, ayoko na. Wag mo na ituloy yan. He was really against showbiz. Ako naman, gusto ko lang kumanta at gusto ko lang mag-perform, [so] I proved him na kaya ko mag-school at mag-work at the same time,” she shares.
Julie Anne is no stranger to the showbiz world as she celebrates her 10th anniversary in the industry. Fresh from sharing the stage with her ultimate idol, Regine Velasquez, she’s gearing up for even more projects as she secures her spot as a certified superstar.
