Halloween is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We enjoy makeup all-year round, but Halloween gives us the perfect excuse to go all-out. If you’re in need of some Halloween makeup pegs to go with your costume, you’re in for a treat. iamClaire. gathered the best Halloween makeup looks inspired by our favorite iconic female characters.
Whether you want to be a warrior (which you already are!), a girl with a pop star alter ego, or the inimitable Queen of the Nile you won’t need some special stage makeup to pull it off. Here are some awesome, but easy Halloween makeup looks you can create with products you can also use year-round.
Unleash your inner Amazon warrior princess by going as the superheroine Wonder Woman. The key to creating the cartoon effect is using a trusty black pen eyeliner with a fine tip and great pigmentation to draw the outlines. The Clio Waterproof Brush Liner XP is just the tool for this. Accentuate your waterline with a white eyeliner and generously highlight the high points of your face. Now all you need is a badass warrior suit!
Since this look requires some sharp contouring, use a dark cool-toned contour powder or eyeshadow like the Girlactik Beauty Star Shadow in Sable to carve out the hollows of the cheeks and nose. You’ll want to recreate Maleficent’s pale complexion but you don’t want to pile on the products or look cakey. We love April Skin Rose Glam Moisture Cover Foundation’s lightweight yet heavily pigmented formula for this.
This interpretation of Elizabeth Taylor’s look as the ancient Egyptian Queen from the 1963 Cleopatra film is stunning and surprisingly easy to recreate! The highlight of this makeup look is the eyes so you’ll be needing metallic eyeshadows, a great eyeliner like Kylie Cosmetics Kyliner in Black, and a pair of bold false eyelashes. Dust on a shimmery gold bronzer on your shoulders and décolletage for a queenly touch.
Relive your childhood by going as Jem from the iconic ‘80s show Jem and the Holograms. Pull off her stage look by using a bright pink lip liner to outline an upside down triangle on the eyes then filling them in with a liquid lipstick in the same shade. The long-lasting and pigmented Colourpop Ultra Matte in Solow is the perfect shade and consistency for this truly outrageous eye makeup! Use it on your lips as well. Apply shimmer shadow on your brow bones and lids for emphasis and, most importantly, don’t forget your pink wig to complete the look!
Feeling bad this Halloween? Why not go as everyone’s favorite female supervillain Harley Quinn. Create the look by using the lightest April Skin Rose Glam Moisture Cover Foundation shade for your base. Use a pigmented red eyeshadow on one eye then blue on the other. Smudge the eyeshadow with your fingers and drag the pigment outwards—no need to be too precise! Use a black liner with a fine tip like Clio Waterproof Brush Liner XP to draw a heart underneath the eye. Finish the look with a bold red lip using Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lip Color in Fashion Legacy and you’re done!
