Celebrities have a unique advantage when it comes to the business of beauty. As so, it’s not unusual for the current Hollywood “It girl” to come out with a fragrance or work with an established brand for a capsule makeup collection. What really gets us excited is when they go all out and launch their own makeup line. Among the crop of beauty brands founded by celebrities, we picked seven that are worth keeping an eye out for. With these celebrities looking the way they do, we are setting our bars high and expecting only the best from their makeup lines.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
Beauty girls all around the world went on a frenzy when global icon and chart-topping star Rihanna finally launched her makeup line Fenty Beauty. She went all out with a range of highlighters, brushes, skinsticks, powders, and forty shades of foundation! Our girl Riri isn’t playing games when she said that diversity and inclusivity are important to her brand. As she said in an interview with E! News, “I want women of all shades to feel included, and all races and all cultures to be a part of this. That's really what was important to me when choosing the shades and how many we were going to make, especially with the foundations." That’s definitely a vision that we can support.
KKW Beauty by Kim Kardashian West
Kim Kardashian West popularized the whole contouring trend so what better product to debut in her makeup line? She started with four shades of dual-sided creme contour and highlight sticks then came out with four powder kits soon after. Fans and beauty vloggers gave KKWBeauty products mixed reviews, but it didn’t impede the makeup brand’s success with their products constantly selling out. We’re hopeful and excited to see how Mrs. West will expand and improve her line.
Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner
Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Kylie Jenner knows how to leverage her social media clout to build a successful makeup brand. The Lip Kit, Kylie Cosmetics’ first and most famous range of products, was inspired by Kylie’s now trademark pouty and luscious lips. Her line has now expanded to include eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, and blushes. She has also come out with several collections and collabs with her equally famous sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian.

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore wanted her makeup brand to be accessible and affordable while offering good quality products. Flower Beauty is currently sold exclusively in the U.S. and from what we’ve heard, the products can hold its own against high end makeup. She has everything from foundations, powders, highlighters, blushes, concealers, brushes, and even fragrances. Barrymore was spotted in a department store in Makati last year, reportedly for a branding trip and we have our fingers crossed for a store opening here in Manila in the near future.
Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr
Supermodel Miranda Kerr launched her skincare line in 2009, offering organic and natural products which reflect her dedication to health and well-being. Kora Organics offers a range of skincare products from facial oils and cleansers, to moisturizers and supplements. If these products will give us Miranda Kerr's glowing skin, then we’re in.
Honest Beauty by Jessica Alba
Honest Beauty is a skincare and makeup line created by Jessica Alba focusing on eco-friendly products free from harmful ingredients. The actress favors an understated style when it comes to her own hair and makeup. Honest Beauty embodies that same aesthetic. Her products look deceptively simple, but it’s been getting rave reviews with The Everything Primer, in particular, being singled out for praise. It got us intrigued and eagerly hoping she launches her brand in our corner of the world.
Kat Von D Beauty by Kat Von D
We first caught sight of Kat Von D in TLC’s Miami Ink. Since then, she has moved on from tattoos to her own makeup brand. Launched in 2008, Kat Von D Beauty carries many of the currently most coveted makeup products in the market. Her artistry is definitely evident in her products packaging. While other makeup brands go for feminine aesthetics, Kat Von D Beauty favors a distinctly edgy—but totally approachable style.
