When microblading—a semi-permanent brow makeup procedure—first came out, it blew us all away and changed the game for girls with barely-there brows. With microbladed brows, you can actually say I woke up like this.
Nowadays, with the “Instagram brow” trend on the wane, a more natural, full feathered brow look is taking over. Don’t be fooled, this look requires the same amount of time and effort as the super defined arched brows does, especially if you don’t have a lot to work with. With that said, girls who are into this look may soon be able to have it tattooed on.
Microfeathering is the new brow procedure pioneered by Kristie Streicher, LA-based brow technician to the stars. Her clients include Mandy Moore, Lorde, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emily Blunt, and Rachel Weisz. Instead of perfectly shaped arches, microfeathering offers a naturally feathered brow effect. Streicher’s technique is to create tiny, natural-looking hair strokes that look virtually indistinguishable from the actual eyebrow hairs. The result? Natural and full brows à la Cara Delevingne. Microfeathering services are currently available at Striiike Salon in LA. Although we have yet to see microfeathering services being offered here in Manila, cop the look by watching this quick and easy Full Feathered Brow tutorial.
