Are you itching for a much-needed break but tight on funds? You'd be surprised how far you can get with Php20,000 or less. From serene camping spots to small cottages by the beach, there is always a new destination to discover in the Philippines that is just a short drive or a plane ride away.  Check out these five budget vacations that won’t break the bank:

1. Anawangin and Nagsasa Cove

A short drive from Manila along the Subic-Clark Toll Expressway (SCTEx), these natural wonders are tucked between towering mountains that will make you forget that you're so close to the city. Pitch your own tent or rent one and you can easily be one with nature. The heat may be a burden but the surrounding trees will easily cool you down. Anawangin Cove is 45 minutes away by boat, while Nagsasa takes an hour and a half.

2. Pagudpud

If you’re looking for something closer up north, Pagudpud is the perfect destination. It is nestled between Laoag and Vigan, which are equally important gems in the Ilocos region. An airline ticket to Laoag will cost you approximately Php6,000 roundtrip and it's only an hour away. From Laoag, it will take you another two hours to get to Laoag. Alternatively, you can take the scenic route by driving to Pagudpud. You will be on the road for 10-12 hours long but it is worth the journey.

From there, the outdoor activities are within reach. Check out the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) which does not only serve as a wakeboarding attraction but duals as a resort with three-star accommodation.

Most people associate Caramoan with the hit American TV show Survivor, which featured the island in its 26th episode. You have the option to go camping like they do on the show or stay in the air-conditioned cottages that were previously built for the crew and are now open to the public. Either way, you'll be able to experience serene island life that is truly secluded. Need to catch up on rest? This is the perfect place for you.
